Day 2: Day before the big day

I was so tired of last day’s journey that I slept till 9.00 am in the morning. My sweet dream was ended by the noise of TV, mixer and what else. I was very angry, and then suddenly it came to my mind that this is not my room and I cannot shout to reduce the noise. I slowly and sleepy went to the living room to find what the heck was happening. My brother’s wife had prepared hot tea for me; the hotness was long by then.

Having the tea I sat beside my brother to get an idea about the trip and who all are coming. I knew all the trip mates except one. Oh let me introduce the trip mates

Anand: SEO Expert . Brothers partner.

Dinu : Bros wife. Air hostess

Hiran : Artist and freelance developer.

Since Kenney and Anand had some meetings in day time we had to postponed the starting to evening. Later we decided to start the trip at 10.00 pm in night. So after all the brain storming session bro went to his work and sister got into normal house hold activities. Rest of the day there was nothing for me to do so I just opened my laptop and started to see the movies in it one by one.

After 6.00 pm I closed the laptop because all the packing had to be done. While doing the packing I noticed that me and my bro had only two bags as luggage but the lady with us was packing up the whole house.

After the packing I went to the company guest house to see Anand. Sitting next to Anand was a tall, handsome, fat guy. That guy was Hiran. Seeing him, the first thing that came to mind was that how Hiran me and Kenney could fit into one car. Hiran, Kenney and me, all were above 95 kg and about 6 foot tall. The only thin human among us was Dinu even Anand was also a above normal guy.

We arranged our entire luggage in the car thanks to the large boot space of the Mitsubishi Lancer. As decided earlier we took the Nagercoil rout. To reduce congestion the front seats was taken by the couples. Me , Anand and Hiran took the backseat.

At about 10.30 pm we started our trip to Dhanushkodi with five people squeezed into a 10 year old Mitsubishi Lancer.

Dhanushkodi Travelogue Day 1

Day 1: The Preparation

One fine evening I got a call from my brother “We are going for trip to Dhanushkodi. Are you interested…? “. At that point I didnt knew what or where Dhanushkdodi was. Kenney (brother) told me that he is going from Ernakulam to Trivandrum and we can start the journey from Trivandrum. That day I packed my bags and went with him to Trivandrum.

We started the journey to Trivandrum at about 11.pm (Kottayam and Trivandrum is about 200km apart). The 10 year old Mitsubishi Lancer (my brother`s) which had a mileage of 2 Lakh kilometer performed like a war horse. In the Erattupetta-Ettumanoor road we touched speed of 100km/hr. We couldn’t maintain that speed because our cars light was not that good and vehicles coming opposite to us was not dimming their light. Upto Chenganoor we had the problem of bad roads and reckless drivers, after Chenganoor the roads where good. By good I mean that it was well maintained with no gutters, wide and with all the reflectors in place. In that strech I was able to get the maximum output of our car and it was touching 130 to 120 km/hr (sorry bro you were sleeping). Around 12.30 am we stopped at Adoor for a small tea break. 12.45 am we resumed the journey; rest of the journey was smooth. We reached Trivandrum around 3.00 am.

Dhanushkodi Travelogue Day 2

The Education and Training wing of CSE, CSE institute of Capital Market will conduct a seminar on topics like Technical Analysis, Equity Derivatives etc. The symposium will be held at Hotel Perl Continental on Saturday (4-09-2010) and Sunday (5-09-10) from 10 am-5.30 pm. The lunch break is from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm. This event is intended to provide updates to investors interested in Shares, Commodities, and Currency etc.  The symposium will also have lessons about the share chart preparation and analysis. A special session is dedicated to derivative trading also. This event will be beneficial to share brokers, investors and people interested in market.

Now it is trend of remakes and sequels in Malayalam cinema. Movie lovers of Kerala can enjoy their favorite characters once more in the silver screen with more sound and visualization effects which are the fruits of modern technology. Even though the remakes are great trend setters, the success cannot be assured. In the previous year we have witnessed both success and failures of remakes and sequels. In all these cases the movies are always a subject of talks and arguments.

5^th Part of Oru CBI Diary Kurup

Sethuramayyar is once more coming to investigate a complicated crime with his team.This 5^th part of the outstanding crime thriller of Malayalam cinema is in the planning .Its made by the same team S.N. Swamy,K. Madhu and Mammootty.

Kandahar

Kandahar is the continuation of Keerthichackra and Kurushetra. This time in Kandahar we can watch Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan together.

One more Commissioner from Shaji Kailas

Suresh Gopi is ready to strike again in his favorite and successful police uniform. This time he comes as Bhagat Nambiar instead of Bharath Chandran. Shaji Kailas will be the creator of this new Police officer with the same qualities of Commissioner Bharath Chandran. The second part of Commissioner, Bharath Chandran IPS was directed by Renjith. It was this movie that paved the way for the return of Suresh Gopi to silver screen.

Master Blend of The King and Commissioner

The Blending of characters was already tried in some Malayalam movies like Balram Vs Taradas and Kilukkam Kilukilukkam. In Balram Vs Taradas, Inspector Balram of Avanazhi comes against Smuggler Taradas of Athiratram and in Kilukkam Kilukilukkam we can see the Gafur(“Gafur ka dosth” fame) of Nadodikattu.

This time we are lucky to watch the super combination of Thevalliparambil Joseph Alex IAS and Bharath Chandran IPS. District Collector Thevalliparambil Joseph Alex IAS is the masterpiece character done by Mammooty in movie “The King” whereas Bharath Chandran is the evergreen character of Suresh Gopi. Both the movies, The King and Commissioner were from Shaji Kailas-Renjith team. In the new blend young super star Prithivraj will come as Bharath Chandran and Mammooty himself as Joseph Alex.

Ninnishtam Ennishtam, Second Part

Ninnishtam Ennishtam was a super hit from Priyadarshan- Mohanlal team. Priya was the heroine of the first part. The story had a tragic ending. Now we are lucky enough to see its second part. The nostalgic song “Elam Manjin Kulirumai “ is also remade in the second part. This time the main characters are new faces. Alleppey Ashraf is the director of this second part.

Matilukalkappuram,Second Part of Matilukal

The movie Matilukal was the on screen version of Bashir’s novel. This movie won lot of awards and Mammootty’s performed was evaluated superb.Matilukal was directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. In the second part of Matilukal, Nayanthara is also coming with Mammooty. Prasad will direct Matilukalkappuram.

August 1, Second Part

In the second part also, Mammooty comes as the Police officer Perumal. The first part of August 1, was directed by Siby Malayil. This time Shaji Kailas is the director. This time too, the script is from S.N . Swamy.

Naduvazhikal, Remake

Naduvazhikal was a super hit from the Mohanlal-Joshi team.  When it is to be remade under the direction of Shaji Kailas, the hero role of Arjun will be done by Prithivraj.

Mukkillarajyathu, Second Part

Movie lovers are once more privileged to watch the comedy of those mad men. In the second part also Mukesh, Siddique, Jagathy and Jagadish are coming to entertain us. It is reported that Thilakkan is not casted for the second part.

Malappuram Joji Mahanaya Haji

This is the second part of the Super comedy movie, Malappurram Haji Mahanaya Joji. Once more we can watch the comedy numbers of Mukesh, Siddique and Jagathy.

Kasargode Kadar Bhai, 3^rd Part

After the comic hits of Kasargode Kadar Bhai and Mimics Parade, the story of underworld comedy is ready once more. This time  Manoj. K. Jayan and Babu Antony comes in the lead roles.

All these movies, when released can create a festival atmosphere in theatres. The remakes are capable of generating a feeling of nostalgia. They don’t need much publicity campaigns as the characters are living in people’ mind for ever.

House of Priyadarshan and Lissi at Chennai became the most blessed spot of India by hosting the reunion of heroes and heroines of the Golden decade of the South Indian Cinema. This colorful event was organized by actress Suhasini and Lissi. This is second similar kind of alumni of stars of those nostalgic films. The function was titled as Evergreen Eighties. The event started after paying tribute to late hero Vishnuvardhan who was a participant of last alumini held one year before.

The Golden stars participated in this nostalgic event are Rajanikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Venkitesh, Sarath Kumar, Arjun, Ambarish, Prabhu, Karthik, Mohan, Suman, Naresh, Bhanuchandhar, Pratap Pothen, Mukesh, Shankar, Ambika, Radhika, Suhasini, Sumalatha, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Shobhana, Lissi, Radha, Revathy, Nadia, Ramya Krishnan and Kushboo.

All these stars presented themselves green and black. The celebrations lasted whole night and songs, in which these actors acted together, were screened on special theatre.

Lalettan comes in the title role of new movie “Onnam Sir”. Onnam Sir is the name given to the Headmaster in schools of Kerala. This is a low budget movie from Director Rajiv Nath, Pakal Nakshatrangal fame. The movie is based on the story “Pothichor”(Packaged food) by Karoor Neelakanta Pillai. The script is by K.B. Venu and production by Chaya films. The shooting will start by the second week of September.

The most awaited audio release of this year in India was held on last Saturday. The theme song of Commonwealth games, Delhi 2010 which is a six month work of India’s pride A.R Rahman. This anthem of CWG 2010 was sung by Rahman in front of a large crowd assembled at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon. This colorful ceremony took place in the presence of Mrs. Shila Dixit, Delhi Chief Minister & Chairman of organizing committee games 2010 and Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana. The legendary words in this anthem Jiyo Utho Bado Jeeto means Live, Rise, Ascend and Win. This song is capable of inspiring all the participants in the Games and also to share its spirit to the sports enthusiasts.

The Super Kings of Kerala Mammooty and Mohanlal will come together in the silver screen by next Onam. Onam 2011 will be a double bonanza for the movie enthusiasts all around the world. It can surely compensate the sorrows of Onam 2010, which had no superstar releases.  This multi superstar movie is christened as “Arakallan Mukkalkallan” which is a comedy thriller. This is the first direction venture of Udayakrishna-Siby. K. Thomas team. This great venture will be produced by Mammooty’s production Playhouse.

Theatres of Kerala can also witness multi star movie of Christian Brothers too from the Udayakrishna-Siby. K. Thomas team soon. Another multi star project “Hello Mayavi” from Rafi-Mecartin  team is now dropped.

Another star wedding took place in Kerala. Young star Bala wedded the Star Singer fame Amrita Suresh last day at Chennai. The simple wedding ceremony was held in the Shiva Temple at Thriunitrevoor near Chennai. The wedding of Bala and Amritha were fixed one year before. They became friends during the time of Idea star singer contest. Bala came as the celebrity guest and Amrita the contestant of the Idea star singer.

The wedding was held in the presence of a small group of intimate friends and close relatives.

Bala and Amrita are now the shining stars of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Bala became familiar to Keralites through the movie Kalabham picturing domestic terrorism. Bala had done notable roles in various Malayalam movies including SMS, Big B, Chempada, Aaydham, Venal Maram, Puthiya Mugham, Ringtone, Dhrona 2010, Black Stallion, Muzafir, Alexander the Great etc and hero roles in Tamil films such as Kalinga, Manjal Veyil, Amma Appa Chellam, Kadhal Kiss Kiss, Anpu etc.

Amrita is now a distinct voice among the playback singers and has sang songs in  movies such as Venal maram, Aagathan and in various albums.

Amrita is the daughter of Mr.P.R Suresh and Laila of Amrithavarshini, Edapalli Cochin and Bala, the son of Mr.Jayakumar and Chentamara of Chennai. Mr.Jayakumar is a notable documentary director of Tamil

Another project of veteran director Lal Jose got titled as Sabarimala Rahasyam( The Secret at Sabarimala) starring Sreenivasan in the hero role. This movie will be a suspense thriller.  The story is from S.N Swamy. The shooting is scheduled to start after the projects “Cousins” starring Mohanlal and Prithivraj and an untitled Dileep Movie. The next release of Lal Jose is Elsamma Enna Aaankutty which hits silver screen during Ramsan days.
