Kerala Budget 2010-11

Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Issac  is now presenting the budget for the year 2010-11.The budget of this time is a Green budget. Much importance is given to preserving the natural beauty,greenery and lagoons of Kerala. The important proposal of the budget are

622 crore for Agricultural projects.125 crore in this is reserved for for Food security

620 crore for woman welfare

5 crore Rs for cochin metro rail

Industrial coridor will be constructed

10 crore for cocunt processing

LED bulbs for all goverrment offices

50 crore for the “Kudumbashri” project

5 crore for Vytilla mobility terminal

Special project for increasing productivity of paddy and 30 crore for increasing cocunut production

50 crore for coir and handloom industries

New company for Kannur airport. In this goverment will be having 26% share

125 crore for Vizinjam container terminal

The welfare pension for the poor raised to 300 Rs

500 crore for providing rice at a subidized rate of Rs 2/kg for the eligibile

51 crore for the development of agricultural field

Job guarantee program in cities too

IT park at Kottayam

2nd Stage of Koratti IT park.

326 crore for irrigation projects

52 crore for cashew nut development

Smart city project will be implemented

Allowance for the marriage of the eligible raised to 20000Rs.

10 crore for the studies im Mullaperiyar dam

Insurance program for the families eligible for Rice at Rs 2/Kg
