Luxury boat service from Kerala Government

Kerala government will launch the semi luxury boat service in Alleppey – Quilon route on February 8 2010. This is the first time the water transport authority of Kerala introducing 2 semi luxury steel boats with 2 floors. There will be two boats. The luxury boat costs about 75 lakh rupees.The service will be inaugurated by Kerala transport minister Jose Tettayil. The inauguration will be held at Kollam. Ministers P.K. Gurudasan and N.K Premachandran will also be there in the function.

The boat trip in Kollam-Alappuza route on this semi luxury boat costs 300 Rs. The one side trip I s of 7 hours. The trip starts at 10.30 am from both the stations Kollam and Alappuza. There will be 16 stops in between Alappuza and Kollam including Kayamkulum, Chavara and Karumadi. The luxury boat service can surely attract the foreign as well as the domestic tourists. The beauty of the backwaters can be enjoyed totally in this boat trip. The boats are equipped with push back seats .The seating capacity is 80 and the minimum charge is 25 Rs.
