Vallarpadam Export Complex-Multi Nationals are Interested

The Cochin port trust has decided to establish an export complex in the proposed container terminal area of vallarpadam. This decision has attracted big business groups all over the world. The date for the submission of proposals is now extended. The last date for proposal submission will be January 5th 2010. The representatives of various business groups participated in the meeting requested to extend this date. Cochin port authorities extended the date for proposal, considering the special nature of the project.

The industrial complex is planned to set up in the port trust owned 230 hectors. The International container Terminal, LNG Terminal and the status of special economic zone makes this area more attractive. The port trust is planning to construct about 40 lakh square feet buildings in total.

This is an area that can boost business a lot. LNG terminal favors the establishment of food industries in the region. The region is also good enough for the imports as well as exports from outside countries. The status of special economic zone is an advantage for the import of heavy machineries.

The port trust is planning to provide the land either as a whole or as 4 separate plots. This welcomes textiles, seafood as well as electronics industries to the region. The laboratories for quality check and control will also be constructed in the same complex.  This will be a great advantage to the industries here. The new proposal can result in a new industrial revolution in Kerala.
