Gulumal Review

Kunchako Boban – Jayasurya combination is back in theatres with the Gulumal release in Kerala which was directed and produced by V K Prakash. The Gulumal music was directed by Manu Ramesh and the cast and crew of the Malayalam film Gulumal includes the famous actors Jagathy Sreekumar, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Salimkumar and Bijukuttan. This is the fourth time Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban coming together in a film and the Gulumal heroine is Mithra.

Gulumal is the story of two frauds trying to do the biggest fraud in their life to find an end to all their problems. Gulumal story deals with how Ravi Varma (Kunchako Boban) and Jijo (Jayasurya) try to impress and bluff the money of an NRI, the role acted by Nedumudi Venu in Gulumal. But Jayasurya’s sister doesn’t like his deceitful activities. But the Jijo Character of Jayasurya in Gulumal is a fraud from his childhood itself.

This is a fulltime comic entertainer. Jijo being impressed by the smartness of Ravi Varma plans a big deal that both will do together.

The comic scenes in Gulumal played by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Bijukuttan are extremely good and you know how well Jayasurya handles comedy in all his movies. The rare combination of Kunchacko, Jayasurya, Suraj and Bijukuttan attracts children and adults equally. This is a must watch movie for those who are interested in comic Malayalam films. This would be the best Malayalam comic movie for this Christmas holidays.
